Any decent work of fiction needs dialogue. It helps propel a plot forward, allows your characters to interact and grow with each other as well as themselves, and can also assist in building the world your story creates. Now I know there are some of us who dread writing dialogue - you’d much rather elaborate on the scene before your characters than having to actually make them interact with each other. They got tired of it eventually though and encouraged me to go back to sleep on my own. It was part of growing up to be honest. One nightmare thought persisted from night to night to night. I would go to sleep and it would pick up at the beginning all over again. It got to the point where I was almost afraid of going to bed. I still remember it now just
