With over a decade of experience in the entertainment and publishing industries, Shayne Leighton co-founded The Parliament House in 2016. Her debut novel, Of Light and Darkness landed on coveted bestsellers lists, while Leighton worked to amass her knowledge and experience in marketing and project production for major and mid-level publishing houses such as Charlesbridge Press (Twice Dead, fall 2018), Cynthia Leitich Smith (Tantalize, Candlewick Press), Alex Flinn (Towering, Harper Teen), and Kimberley Griffiths Little (When The Butterflies Came, Scholastic Press), and others. She strives to be the Guillermo del Toro of the publishing industry, curating works that appeal to readers who favor darker, edgier, and quirkier fare.

Cindy Kilbourne is a graduate of The University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. You’ll never find her without a book in hand. An avid reader from childhood, some of her earliest literary loves included Romeo and Juliet and Grimms’ Fairy tales. Born in the picturesque state of Washington, Jessica Julien is an online ESL teacher to students in China, a stay at home mom, business owner, and wanderluster. When not in the virtual classroom or creating in her workspace, she spends her time writing young adult novels focused on the paranormal and supernatural inspired by her love of all things dark and twisty. In her free time, Jessica can be found enjoying a cup of dark roasted coffee while snuggling under a blanket with a good book. When the weather is right she hops in the car with her husband, son, and dogs to road trip across the country where she delights in eating red vines, drinking iced lattes, and singing loudly in the passenger seat.
Amanda Wright is a graduate of Walsh University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications. Which is really just a fancy way to say “Jack of All Trades”. Amanda’s love of reading was born the day her dad stuck her in her bedroom for an hour with a copy of ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. As an avid reader, Amanda also tried her hand at writing. She is the author of an unpublished book that she has written and rewritten five times since it first graced her Compaq in high school. She is excited to finally sit down with a hot cup of coffee and dive into the world of editing.

Having begun by studying English Literature and Cello Performance at a small liberal arts college, Albertson College of Idaho, Malorie immediately cut her teeth on professional publishing, working directly with publishers through running an independent bookstore, A Novel Adventure. She went on to spend 5 years in marketing and content development as the head copywriter and editor of a marketing agency, and as a project manager for social media marketing. Getting back to her roots, Malorie has returned to books! An editor and writer, she has been privileged to work on novels and nonfiction books that have gone on to live fulfilling, traditionally published lives. She makes her home in the heart of Boise—a veritable metropolis by Idaho standards—with one hilarious and remarkably supportive spouse, one little emperor of a giant orange tabby, and a room full of books (which is most definitely conspiring with the room full of yarn).
A Philadelphia native, a recent move to Florida lead Michael to finding The Parliament House. He joined the team in the fall of 2019 and found a family in doing so. A lifelong reader of mostly science fiction and fantasy, working in the publishing industry has been a goal lingering in the back of Michael’s head, as he believes the magic of storytelling to be an important and powerful thing for people of all ages. He is thrilled to be part of a unique company like The Parliament House and to be part of its growth as PR Director.
Friends and family enjoy making fun of Erica for her (sometimes obsessive) love of all things book-related, but she doesn't mind—there's no use in hiding the truth! Erica wears lots of hats in her life; she's the mommy of two wonderful little boys, a freelance editor, a wife to a goofball husband, and an aspiring author working on her debut novel. She prides herself on being a Gryffindor and coffee addict, as well as an unashamed Shakespeare nerd. She resides in Newville, Pennsylvania.
