If you haven't had a chance to view our schedule, see it here!
Today, we bring you an enchanting—or, rather, disenchanting—novel from Hawaii author, Brianna Sugalski.
Disenchanted immerses readers into an Arthurian forest setting and Renaissance lore, following the story of a cursed princess and her bramble-infested journey to the impious enchantress who will cure her in time for her coronation. That is, if the monsters don't get to her, first.
Here is the spell-binding cover of Disenchanted, illustrated by Gabriella Bujdoso!
You've been cordially invited to Lilac's royal coronation...
Gods help us all.
See you at the ramparts on March 10th, 2020.
✨"This is the tale of a cursed princess,
A crestfallen killer,
The town that wants them to burn,
And the witch who can save them both."✨
What do you think of this cover?
"A Breton princess at the peak of the French Renaissance, Lilac lives prisoner in her parents' castle after a wicked secret is revealed on the eve of her tenth birthday soirée.
Years later, her coronation looms, and between the riotous townsfolk and scheming nobleman bent on snatching the throne, Lilac prepares for the worst... Until a mysterious letter arrives from The Witch of Lupine Grotto, detailing a curious offer to banish her darkness forever. Lilac begrudgingly trades her coronet for a cloak and ventures into the forest Brocéliande in pursuit of the impious enchantress at the edge of town. With only the protection of an inherited dagger—and unsolicited help from the gregarious stranger who inserts himself on her quest—she must traverse Brocèliande and return in time to claim her rightful position as sovereign monarch."
Brianna's favorite Halloween memories:
"As much as I enjoyed trick or treating when we were younger, my sisters and I really liked handing candy out. Our front door was right in our front living room, so after an hour of going up and down our street, we'd go back home and watch Disney's Halloween Town while eating from the same candy bowl we used for the trick or treaters.
We were more 'candy grazers' than anything outside of halloween, and there are four of us. So we'd have these enormous popcorn jars sitting on our kitchen island, filled with literal pounds of our halloween candy from the year prior. Our parents would have to eventually take them to work before the next Halloween rolled around."
