HALLOWEEN HEARTH STORIES: Join Us for Our Third Annual Halloween Storytelling Event!

Updated: Oct 22, 2021

'Tis the season to be spooky! And we here at the Parliament House Press could not be more thrilled that Halloween is just around the corner. To celebrate all things entrenched in mystery—every wicked impulse, all things trick AND treat—we are ghoulishly gleeful to bring you the third installment of our seasonal short story event—HALLOWEEN HEARTH STORIES!

On Monday, October twenty-fifth, we will begin five days of fireside readings on Instagram Live. We were drawn to the tales of the Shelleys and Lord Byron writing tales of horror in the romance poet's sprawling villa and reading them nightly around the fire. Thus inspired, we wanted to share that energy with you, dear reader. Parliament House's very own authors so graciously volunteered their efforts into flash fiction pieces centering upon a monster of their choosing.

Everything from haunts to the fae will be represented in these monstrous short pieces, and once all of the stories have been read and we are all preparing for All Hallow's Eve, an ebook collection of all of the tales will be released for exclusive download. Watch this space.

What would Halloween Hearth Stories be without a GIVEAWAY?

Certainly not part of our burgeoning tradition, that is for sure. This is why we are happy to offer one reader an ebook copy of the book featured in each of our author readings. All that is required is that you attend the events on Instagram, and one reader will be randomly selected from the attendees*! But that is not all: each winner will receive a coupon to use in the Parliament House shop, plus some exclusive digital swag related to each book!

TWO events are pre-recorded (noted in the schedule below) due to timezone issues. To enter into those giveaways, keep your ears open for a question that will be asked of you during the reading. Comment with your answer to be entered to win!

*Limited to the attendees for a single event. Attendance will not carry over from one reading into the others for purposes of entry into the giveaway.
