Welcome to Halloween Hearth Stories & a Gloriously Ghoulish Giveaway!
Updated: Oct 31, 2020
'Tis the season to be spooky! And we here at the Parliament House Press could not be more thrilled that Halloween is just around the proverbial corner. To celebrate all things entrenched in mystery—every wicked impulse, all things trick AND treat—we bring to you Halloween Hearth Stories, a seasonal short story event!
On Saturday, October twenty-fourth, and on Saturday, October thirty-first (the big day itself!), we will be posting short stories written exclusively for this event by many of our very own authors. They so graciously volunteered to leap into a randomly selected prompt and make it their own. Everything from ghoulish ghosties to wicked witches and trick-or-treating to carving jack o' lanterns is represented in these titillating tales of mystery and mayhem.
Now, onto the Giveaway!
As a part of our Halloween celebrations, we will be hosting a giveaway through the Halloween Hearth Stories event! One randomly selected winner will receive a physical copy of a Parliament House Press book written by the author whose story you selected, more on that below. This is, unfortunately, a US only option at this time. Additionally, three randomly selected entrants will receive an electronic copy of a Parliament House title, open to international entries!
To enter for your chance to win, you must:
Join our Facebook group, The Parliament House: Literary Luminati
Comment with the title of your favorite of the Halloween Stories featured on the blog on the facebook post in the Parliament House: Literary Luminati group. The post features the following image, so keep an eye out for this:
Look for this image in the Facebook group!
Be sure to note your username in your comment entry so that we know who you are!
The giveaway will be open from October thirty-first at 8 AM to 8 AM on November fourth. Winners will be announced at noon on the fourth, so be sure to stay tuned for that! All times listed in EST.
But wait, there's more!
Since all of you will cast a vote for your favorite Halloween story, when entries are closed, we will tally up your votes and do a dramatic reading of the three stories highest in the esteem of you, our readers! Snuggle in with a blanket and a beverage of your choice, and let one of Parliament's staff read you your favorite tales as we move ever deeper into a cooling autumn!
We are so excited to be celebrating Halloween with all of the Parliament House Press authors and readers. We wish you a thrilling Samhain and a Happy Halloween! May all of your jack o' lanterns be lit, and all of your candy be unpilfered by those pesky candy-thieving gremlins.
